THE AUGUST HOLIDAYS' "WATER WAR" IN ITALY

15 August in Italy is one of most importat holidays of the Year.
That holiday, of course becomes from a religious fest 8 as all other holidays in my Country), is the day dedicated to Immaculate Conception, a Catholic religious dogma, very important ( but I think it becomes from an older paganic cult, as the big part of Catholic cults, of course..).
That popular fest takes many means, but from many years ( when i was a boy that thing exists9 between boys, girls, and guy person starts the 'Water's war'..
What is the water's war?
It's easy. the 15 august in Italy is one of most hottest days in the summer, temperature can arrives to 40° Celsius that means all need water to drink, I think that strange war started in Italian's beaches on '60's, when all italian families went for a week or 2 weeks every year for theira vacancies: boys fired - between them - balls full of water.
After the first years that becomes a sort of ' tradition'. every years, in every italian beach on 15 August boys 'plays the water war, but that thing arrived also in the towns and in the big Cities; now, after 30 - 40 years after from first balls of water, there are specialised toys 'to fire water' for kids, as the rifle in the photo on right, or as you can see in the video belove - if i'll found it... -

ABRUZZI: THE 'MIRACLE' OF RECONSTRUCTION

The state will cover all the costs of reconstruction. Silvio Berlusconi yesterday morning visited the village of Onna, a few kilometers dall'Aquila, recognized by all as a symbol of destruction from earthquake, were implanted earthquake-proof, the plates on which were built housing will be ready by September (with the latest facilities will be delivered in early November).

I can understand why, out of Italy, people doesn't understand why Berlusconi is popular , loved and voted by italian citizens: media talks about him only for scandals or when he makes bad
statements, or he wants to appear friendly, but where he considetrated only stupid
Another reason strangers doesn't understand the berlusconi's popularity is the many crimes he accused, but, After many years that I thought that Berlusconi was only a kind of criminal, I have informed that if Berlusconi has committed crimes were only tax evasion, and other related crimes it.
In Italy 90 % of farmers are tax evasion, but only Berlusconi has been investigated and tried dozens or hundreds of times this is the reality, and this reality has changed my opinion on Berlusconi.

IT'S ITALIAN THE LARGEST PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM IN THE WORLD

Be Rho, a small town near Milan, to host the largest photovoltaic system in the world.
Will be installed on the roof of the New Fair (a local Expo), and its 270,000 square meters (equivalent to 38 football fields) will develop a peak power of 18 MW.
The panels will be capable of producing over 15 million kWh per year of electricity, enough to meet the energy needs of 6,000 families.
The new plant will prevent the release into the atmosphere of over 5,000 tons of CO2 produced in the same a year from 2,000 cars that the average displacement along 15,000 kilometers each.
Working on the start of the round at the end of September and will be completed by 2010.
The company will award the contract will have to prepare to pay out no less than 450,000 euros a year for the lease of the roof and 70 to 90 million euros for the PV power plant.
Currently, the largest of its kind is located in Zaragoza, Spain, on the roofs of the General Motors plant and a peak power of 12 MW.
Now, the largest Italian is in Serravalle Scrivia, and develops a power of "only" 4.7 MW.

PS: To build 'The largest photovoltaic system in the world' could becames a good game to play for Countries, and I think that could be a good idea...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DINO DE LAURENTIIS

DINO DE LAURENTIIS, 90 years old tomorrow, is one of most important movies producers of the world.
Borns in a poor family in Torre del Greco, near Naples, starts to make actor on 1937 for few scenes in a 'B movie', but he understands the career of actor wasn't right for him, but Dino loves cinema and he starts to work as producer
After many documentaris, De Laurentiis produces, as esecutiv producer of LUX film ( most important italian film company after World-War II) he produced: Riso Amaro (1948) directed by Giuseppe De Santis, Napoli milionaria (1950) by Eduardo De Filippo, Dov'è la libertà? (1954) by Roberto Rossellini, Miseria e nobiltà (1954) by Mario Mattoli e La grande guerra (1959) by Mario Monicelli, with Alberto Sordi and Vittorio Gassman, Gold Lion to Venice Cinema Festival .
De Laurentis was a great talent scout in Italy, he married Silvana Mangano, ( the protagonist and the sexy-bomb of Riso Amaro, the tragedy with Vittorio Gassmann, and considerated the 'state of art' of italian neo-realism ) or, more easy, the most beautiful italian actress of 50's (together Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida, of course), and a big talent as interpreter.
Dino De Laurentis, about the neo-realism, a day saids: "Journalists writes "Italian directors wants to mak the 'neo-realism'", but isn't right, the real thing is thath after W-W II, Italian economy was totally down; nobody has money and to record a movie They must went to work on the streets, because weren't theatre studios, and none had money to build its!!"
On '48 he just opens a new company: "Ponti De-Laurentiis" and they re-builds an old theatre studios, after that, he builds 'DinoCittà', a sort of 'CineCittà' (builded by Mussolini some years before, and still now the 'center of italian cinema studios'); on Dinocittà, he recorded many international colossals, just to 50's as "The ten Commandments", War and peace, Barabba, Landing in Anzio, Waterloo, on 70's... ( now the historical colossals are recording in Morocco)
As others important italian personages, also Dino De Laurentis, 'thanks' to italian politic, went out of Italy, and goes to live in USA
